Lil Wayne Is Bringing A Horse To The Belmont Stakes At Saratoga

Lil Wayne is heading to Saratoga for Belmont Stakes weekend... but not as a performer.

According to reports from Page Six and Daily Racing Form, the rapper is part of an ownership group that has entered a horse in the 2026 Belmont Stakes at Saratoga Race Course.

The horse, Vitruvian Man, is owned by Run Fast Racing, a celebrity-backed horse racing syndicate that includes Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro, and talent manager Adam Kluger. The colt officially secured a spot in the Belmont field and will compete in the final leg of horse racing's Triple Crown on Saturday, June 6.

Vitruvian Man is trained by two-time Kentucky Derby-winning trainer Doug O'Neill and will be ridden by jockey Antonio Fresu. The horse enters the race with one win in six career starts and is coming off a third-place finish in the Santa Anita Derby.

Horse racing has become a growing passion project for Wayne. In 2025, he joined Run Fast Racing, a group created to introduce new fans to the sport through celebrity ownership. According to People magazine, the syndicate was formed with the goal of bringing more attention to horse racing and making ownership more accessible to everyday fans.

This isn't the first success for the group, either. Several of their horses have already picked up victories, including one named Sixhoofsevenhoof, a nod to Wayne's hit song "6 Foot 7 Foot."

The Belmont Stakes returns to Saratoga Race Course for the third straight year while renovations continue at Belmont Park on Long Island. This year's race is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, with a purse of $2 million.

And now one of the biggest names in hip-hop will have a horse competing on one of racing's biggest stages right here in the Capital Region.
