BTS Boycotts 2027 Grammy Awards Over Asian Pop Category

BTS has decided not to submit their latest album “ARIRANG” and its tracks for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards.
Leader RM expressed the hope that music can be appreciated for its own merit without being divided by region or language.
The Recording Academy introduced a new Asian Pop category to recognize music in Asian languages, including K-pop, J-pop, and C-pop.
Some fans and industry observers raised concerns that creating separate categories could create barriers for Asian artists in major Grammy fields.
HYBE clarified that BTS's decision not to submit for the Grammys is specific to the group and not a company-wide boycott.
