According to Swift’s beauty artist, she had to get Swift’s mother’s approval before using red lipstick. Swift reportedly loved the look so much that the designer gave her a tube to take home. Taylor has since referenced her red lips several times in her music, most recently on her Midnights album song, “Maroon.”
